Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 August 2026

MyShot helps photographers deliver event photos and helps guests find their own photos using face recognition. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Who this applies to

Information we collect

Account information. Your name and email address from Google Sign-In, Sign in with Apple, or email sign-up. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email", we only ever see the relay address. Optional profile details you choose to add, such as location, bio, age and contact links.

Photos and event data. Google Drive folder links that photographers connect to an event, the event photos accessed from those folders for processing, and portfolio photos or quotation files that photographers upload.

Face data (biometric). We generate mathematical representations, called embeddings, of faces detected in event photos. These are used only to match a guest's selfie to their photos within a specific event. When a guest searches, the selfie is processed for that immediate search. It is never used for advertising or for identifying anyone across events.

Usage information. Basic activity such as events processed, searches performed and messages sent, to operate and improve the service. We also store a device push-notification token so we can deliver message notifications, and crash and performance diagnostics.

Payment information. We record which purchases you made and their status. Card and bank details are handled entirely by our payment providers and never reach our servers.

Face and biometric data — your consent

By uploading a selfie to search an event, you consent to your facial data being processed for the sole purpose of finding your photos in that event. Photographers are responsible for having the right to process the photos they connect, and for confirming that the people in them agree to be searchable.

How we use your information

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use face data for advertising or to identify you outside the event you searched.

Data sharing

We use service providers who process data on our behalf under their own terms: Google Firebase for authentication, database and storage; Google Cloud for photo processing; Razorpay for payments on Android and the web; and Apple for in-app purchases on iOS. We do not share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing.

Data retention and deletion

Security

Authentication is handled by Google Firebase. Access to your content is restricted by server-enforced security rules, network traffic is encrypted over HTTPS, and every payment is verified on our servers rather than trusted from the app.

Children

MyShot is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age in your region. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
